NutriSilk – Hair, Skin & Nail Support With Biotin & Collagen | 60 Capsules
NutriSilk is a hair, skin and nail supplement in capsule form. Each 2-capsule serving provides 5,000 mcg of biotin, 15 mg of zinc (citrate), 1 mg of copper, 35 mcg of selenium, four B vitamins including 250 mg of niacinamide, and a 750 mg blend of gelatin, hyaluronic acid and chicken collagen. One 60-capsule bottle is a 30-day supply. NutriSilk supports strong hair and nails and healthy skin.†
NutriSilk is for people who want their hair, skin and nails to keep pace with the rest of their routine. Collagen gives skin its structure, hyaluronic acid helps it hold water, and hair and nails are made of keratin, a protein your body builds from what you eat. It's an easy habit to start in your 30s and 40s, rather than something to save for later. Below is every amount on the label, what each ingredient does, and an honest read on where the research is strong and where it's thin.
Why people take NutriSilk
- To support strong hair and nails and healthy skin, with 5,000 mcg of biotin in every serving.†
- For zinc and copper, two minerals the body uses to build proteins and connective tissue.†
- For collagen and hyaluronic acid, two things your skin is made of, together in one 750 mg blend.†
- For four B vitamins (riboflavin, niacinamide, B6 and pantothenic acid) that help turn food into energy.†
- For selenium, which your body builds into its own antioxidant enzymes.†

How NutriSilk works
Biotin (5,000 mcg)
Biotin is vitamin B7. Your body uses it as a helper for enzymes that process fats, carbohydrates and amino acids.† No upper limit has been set for biotin, because the Food and Nutrition Board found no evidence that it's toxic at high intakes (NIH biotin fact sheet).
Now the candid part. That same NIH fact sheet says biotin's reputation for hair, skin and nails rests, at best, on a few case reports and small studies, and the nail studies didn't report whether people were low in biotin to begin with. So think of biotin as covering a nutrient your body uses every day, not as a guarantee about your hair.
Collagen and hyaluronic acid (750 mg blend)
Collagen is the main structural protein in skin, and gelatin is collagen that has been cooked down. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar-based molecule your skin uses to hold on to water. NutriSilk's blend combines gelatin (kosher), hyaluronic acid and collagen from chicken, 750 mg in all.†
What the research shows: a 2023 systematic review pooled 26 randomized trials with 1,721 participants and found that hydrolyzed collagen improved skin hydration and elasticity compared with placebo. The authors also found bias in several of those trials and called for larger studies (Pu 2023). For hyaluronic acid, a 12-week trial in 150 healthy adults found that 120 mg a day of oral sodium hyaluronate improved skin hydration and elasticity compared with placebo, with smaller effects at 60 mg a day. Six of its seven authors work for a company that makes hyaluronic acid (Dolečková 2025).
What it doesn't show: the label lists the blend as one 750 mg total without breaking out each ingredient, and the collagen trials used hydrolyzed collagen. So we can't tell you NutriSilk matches the doses in those studies. Think of the blend as a supporting cast for the vitamins and minerals.
Zinc (citrate), copper and selenium
Zinc helps hundreds of enzymes do their jobs, including the ones that build proteins and copy DNA when cells divide.† Copper is a helper for enzymes involved in making connective tissue (NIH copper fact sheet).† NutriSilk uses zinc citrate. In a small randomized crossover study, 15 healthy adults given 10 mg of zinc without food absorbed about 61% of it from zinc citrate, about the same as from zinc gluconate, and about 50% from zinc oxide (Wegmüller 2014).
Zinc and copper are linked. Taking 50 mg or more of zinc a day for weeks can interfere with copper absorption (NIH zinc fact sheet). NutriSilk pairs 15 mg of zinc with 1 mg of copper, and that zinc sits well under the 40 mg daily upper limit for adults. Selenium (35 mcg, 63% DV) gets built into selenoproteins, including the glutathione peroxidase enzymes that are part of your body's own antioxidant system (NIH selenium fact sheet).†
Niacinamide, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid
These four B vitamins help your cells turn food into usable energy.† Niacinamide is the form of vitamin B3 that doesn't cause the hot, red "niacin flush" that nicotinic acid can (NIH niacin fact sheet). Vitamin B6, here as pyridoxine HCl, takes part in more than 100 enzyme reactions, most of them involved in processing protein, the raw material for keratin and collagen.† Pantothenic acid comes as d-calcium pantothenate, the most common supplement form, and your cells use it to make coenzyme A, which is central to burning fats and carbohydrates for fuel.†
How to take NutriSilk
The label directions: "Take two capsules per day, as a dietary supplement." That's one serving, so a 60-capsule bottle lasts 30 days.
- The label doesn't say whether to take it with food. Pairing it with the same meal every day is the easiest way to remember it.
- The 10 mg of riboflavin can turn your urine bright yellow. Riboflavin is a yellow vitamin, and your body passes what it doesn't use in urine (NIH riboflavin fact sheet).
- NutriSilk is not vegetarian. The blend contains gelatin and collagen from chicken.
- Biotin can throw off some lab tests. In a small study, six healthy adults taking 10 mg of biotin a day for a week saw interference in 9 of 23 biotin-based tests (Li 2017). NutriSilk has 5 mg per serving, so tell your practitioner and the lab you take it before any blood work.
Ask your healthcare practitioner before use if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition.
Don't take our word for it
- Verified by independent labs. ISO 17025-accredited labs check our test results.
- Every ingredient lot tested before use. Federal rules only require an identity test on incoming dietary ingredients. We test every incoming lot for identity, potency, heavy metals and microbes.
- If it misses spec, it doesn't go in a bottle. More than 99% of our tests pass, and the lots that don't are turned away.
- A certificate of analysis for every lot. See the certificates of analysis for this product.
Made in the USA. Made and tested in Mt. Angel, Oregon. It's a farm town of about 3,500 people in the Willamette Valley, and our UL-certified cGMP facility sits right in it. The people who formulate, make and test NutriSilk work under one roof, and the owners work in the building too. The company has been owner-run since 2017. We've been making supplements in Oregon since 1974. That's 52 years, and we're not getting old either.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to notice a difference?
Give it about three months of daily use before you judge. Hair and nails grow slowly, and the hyaluronic acid trial above ran for 12 weeks.
Can I take NutriSilk with my multivitamin?
You can, but check the totals first. If you take a daily multi such as our Women's Multi with KSM-66 ashwagandha or Men's Multi daily multivitamin, add up the zinc, niacin and vitamin B6 across both labels, and ask your practitioner if the combined amounts are right for you.
Why are some of the Daily Values so high?
Because some Daily Values are tiny. Biotin's DV is 30 mcg, so 5,000 mcg reads as 16,666%, and no upper limit has been set for biotin. The 20 mg of vitamin B6 is well under the 100 mg adult upper limit the NIH lists (NIH vitamin B6 fact sheet). The 250 mg of niacinamide is above the 35 mg upper limit the NIH lists for supplemental niacin. That limit was set based on the flushing nicotinic acid causes and applies to both forms, though niacinamide itself doesn't cause flushing. If you take other niacin products, or have questions about your total, ask your practitioner.
Do I need to stop NutriSilk before blood work?
Ask your practitioner, and tell the lab you take biotin. Biotin can interfere with some common lab tests, so your practitioner may want you to pause it first.
Should I take vitamin C with NutriSilk?
It's a sensible pairing. Your body needs vitamin C to make collagen (NIH vitamin C fact sheet), and NutriSilk contains none, so a vitamin C supplement such as Good C buffered vitamin C covers that side.†
Is NutriSilk safe with my medication?
Ask your healthcare practitioner first, and bring the bottle so they can see every ingredient and amount.
